Are you looking for a friendly venue for a family outing? Are you looking for a quiet venue for a breakfast meeting south of Kampala or near Entebbe Road? Open to members, residents and non-residents, Makindye Country Club’s restaurant menu has something to please all tastes.

Do you want to take your kids to a restaurant where you know they will love what’s on the menu? We have a range of international dishes, meals and snacks. Our dessert selection will remind you of mum’s home cooking!

Special menus are available on weekends, with barbecues and Mexican buffets served on public holidays. Please look at our events calendar for details of our next Sunday roast chicken or our next Sunday curry buffet. Barbecues are another speciality that the Club often advertises on public holidays.

The feasts continue throughout the year: mince pies and Christmas carol singing around the swimming pool, an Easter egg hunt for the children and an intimate candlelit Valentine’s dinner are just some of the special occasions that have graced our Club.

Throughout the year, Makindye Country Club hosts celebrations for many of Kampala’s expat communities. Popular special occasion menus include Thanksgiving and 4th of July, thanks to our legacy as the successor to the American Recreation Association (ARA). We’ve also been proud to host our Scottish community friends for Burns Night, a number of Irish Society events and more. Whether it’s pumpkin pie, haggis, neeps and tatties or muchomo roasted meat, you can guarantee MCC has it covered! The Makindye Country Club team are experts in professional event catering, at the Club restaurant and private functions, small and large, across Kampala.

The Makindye Country Club Restaurant is open from 7 am to 10 pm seven days a week. For Club residents, a continental breakfast is included in your room rate. Other meals and snacks are charged separately. For Club residents who require a packed lunch, please enquire in advance. Takeaway food and drink orders are also available.

Have you collected your receipt? 

Please ask for an invoice and receipt at all times to ensure correct accountability in the bar and restaurant. If you are in a hurry, do please say so – but please insist on an invoice and receipt.

Do I need to book the restaurant?

There’s no need to book the Club restaurant in advance, unless you are in a group or if it is one of our advertised special events.
